work eth·ic
noun
noun
- the principle that hard work is intrinsically virtuous or worthy of reward.
- Worker is motivate to complete a job and will go the extra mile to make sure that happens. Worker is conscientious and will always strive to do his/her very best.
A strong work ethic is part of an individual's personal values. It's based in a belief in the value of work for its own sake and not just for its rewards. It sometimes has its roots in religion; for instance, the Protestant work ethic focuses on hard work and frugality as the manifestation of a person's faith. The Protestants viewed worldly work as beneficial to society as a whole.
Being honest, having a positive attitude, taking initiative, caring about coworkers, doing more than expected, being reliable and responsible, learning new skills and being a team player are also examples of a strong work ethic. Someone with a good work ethic gladly takes on additional responsibilities on the job. A person with a strong work ethic is self-motivated, requires little supervision, and wants to continue learning and improving. A strong work ethic manifests in a professional employee who represents the company well in all situations. The individual is polite and helpful to customers, even those who are unpleasant.

KEEPING YOUR LIFE IN BALANCE
Consider that every person who works at any job has to consider how to keep their life in balance and find the time that is needed for work responsibilities, home responsibilities, spiritual responsibilities, health responsiblities, social responsibilities, etc. At any given time one or more of these responsibilities is more important or less important than the others, but they all still have to be dealt with. Do you know people who spend all their time working and spend almost no time with their families? How do you see people balancing all the responsibilities of their life? Getting things out of balance in your life is what causes STRESS and tension. How are you doing balancing your life?
